Learn Deep Point Of View: Foundations
This is the introductory unit in the larger 5 week masterclass on writing in deep POV. The masterclass only runs three to four times a year, and this unit offers you access to the basics at a more affordable price because there’s no feedback or critiques.
This unit offers eight lessons designed to help you understand the foundational techniques needed to make deep POV work for your story and your voice. Only, you don’t just learn what words to avoid, but you learn what effect those techniques aim to create for readers so then you get to decide when to use them or not depending on what effect you’re looking to create.
Each lesson has a PDF you can download, a video with additional content, as well as the lesson online that you can access from any device. There are homework suggestions to help you apply what you’re learned. This course does not offer any critiques or feedback. Deep point of view is a writing technique popular with commercial fiction writers that aims to remove the writer’s voice completely and immerse the reader in the story with the character as though it’s happening right now! Learn Deep POV: Writing Emotions In Layers
This is the most popular unit in the 4 week masterclass on Deep POV. There are seven lessons currently, though each time I run the longer 4 week course I often add new content and that new content will show up in these stand alone units as well.
These lessons break down SHOW DON’T TELL into bite-size pieces, helps you dig down deeper into the emotions in a scene, and write them in a way that grabs readers by the throat and won’t let go. Emotions are what makes deep pov so compelling, the way they’re expressed is unique to this storytelling style.
Each lesson gives you an online lesson with a downloadable PDF, as well as a video lesson with additional content and suggested homework. You’ll also receive a coupon code for the value of this course to put towards the longer 4 week masterclass if you decide to upgrade.
Method Acting For Writers 4 Week Masterclass
